I am thrilled to offer custom art commissions, providing you with a unique piece of artwork tailored specifically to your needs. Below is an outline of the commission process, including important information about agreements, timelines, and payment.
Commission Agreement
All commissions require entering into a Commission Agreement, which will be sent to you prior to any payment. This agreement outlines the details of the services, including:
- A description of the commissioned artwork
- Agreed-upon timeframes and deadlines
- Pricing, including deposits and final payments
- Shipping information
- Cancellation terms
The agreement ensures that both parties are clear on the expectations and responsibilities throughout the commission process.
Reference Photos
To begin the commission, I require a clear, high-quality reference photograph of the subject. If your pet has passed or clear photos are difficult to obtain, I will do my best to work from a collection of images to create the artwork, though please note this may not always be possible. The more photos you can provide, the better the chances of achieving a successful result.
Deposit and Initiation
Once we have finalized the artwork’s details and signed the Commission Agreement, a non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your booking. This deposit will be deducted from the total price of the commission.
Check-In Points
During the creation process, I will provide up to three check-in points where you can review the progress of the artwork. At each stage, you may provide feedback and request reasonable adjustments to ensure the final piece meets your expectations.
Final Payment and Delivery
Upon completion of the artwork, the remaining balance must be paid before shipping. Once the final payment is received, the artwork will be packaged carefully and shipped to your address. While I take every precaution to ensure safe delivery, you may opt for additional insurance for extra peace of mind.
Ownership and Usage Rights
Upon final payment, ownership of the artwork will transfer to you. However, I retain the right to showcase the commissioned piece in my portfolio, on my website, social media, or in promotional materials, unless otherwise agreed upon in advance.
Termination
In the unlikely event that the agreement needs to be terminated, either party may do so in the case of a material breach. If the agreement is terminated, the client will be responsible for compensating me for any work completed up to the termination date.
